We are now preparing for the 2010 Whitley Arts Festival.
Last year we featured an exciting array of film, poetry, photography and installation to an audience in excess of 3000 people.
Highlights included the world premiere of Mark Aerial Waller's Karpouziaaa, commissioned by the festival and made in Whitley, which went on to be a feature film at the Tate Modern in London, and What the Butler Saw, a constantly evolving event combining live and recorded, rehearsed and improvised, audio and visual art, destined to become a central feature of the 2010 line-up.
The Whitley Arts Festival focuses on new work, commissions, experimentation and new and alternative forms of artistic presentation, taking place in a variety of locations around Reading and Whitley.
The Reading Experimental Film festival (REFF), now in its third
year, is a significant element of The Whitley Arts Festival and
operates under its umbrella. We will shortly be accepting submissions for 2010 and details will be featured on the website, click here to join the mailing list.
The Whitley Arts Festival, founded in 2004 is run by Hogarth
Productions and is commissioned by the charity Aspire2.
